Our charitable service is run entirely by volunteers.
On first contact with our group many people describe feeling a tremendous sense of relief that they can speak to someone who will help them with managing the condition.
- As well as providing advice and information about Tinnitus we are here to listen
- Talking to someone about any anxieties you may have about tinnitus and any distress it may cause, can be therapeutic in itself
- We offer one-to-one lay counselling support from a group member who experiences tinnitus
- Information booklets about managing tinnitus
- Group meetings/peer support/social meetings
- For anyone aged over 55 with hearing difficulties, we can help complete a self-referral to audiology
- We have a good relationship with Chesterfield Royal Hospital Audiology and can ask them for additional support and advice
Patient Pathway
It is important to get a proper diagnosis so seek advice from your GP. As a result of NICE Guidance for Tinnitus Patients, there is an appropriate patient pathway that GPs should follow. Depending on the diagnosis, this may be a referral to ENT and/or to Audiology for further assessment.
